BERETTA S 57 E SHOTGUN --- I NEED THE WISE GUYS HERE !!!

Good day to the community

I got a problem. A guy inherited a Beretta Over/Under Model S 57 E shotgun. He wants to sell it and asks ca. US$ 1000.-- for it.
The gun was maybe testshot and dissapears then in the gun safe for more than 15 years. The wood is standardgrain but no
wear or dings. The same is fact for the metalparts. Caliber is 12/70 and it got two triggers and a very strong ejector. No play
in any part.

So please help me to get this in a row. I can't say anything about shotguns. But it feels good when I take it at my shoulder.

The only information I can find is from the Twenty-Ninth edition of "Blue Book of Gun Values" by S. P. Fjestad (now two years old): Model S57E - higher quality version of Golden Snipe. Manufactured 1955-1967. $900 in 100% condition, $800 in 98% condition, $700 in 95% condition.

What don95 said..I have a 12 ga. s57e with a single select trigger and sling swivels that I brought back from Italy when I was in the Air Force. Though mine was made in 1970.

If you take it a part, you will see a set of Roman numerals on the bottom or side of the breech. This is the year of manufacture. Go to the Beretta web page and there is a list of the years of manufacture by Roman numerals.

I recently bought another in excellent shape for just under nine hundred dollars.

A 20 ga. would command a bit more money.
