I saw three of these at a local gunshop.
They look "handy" for CCW.

Any comments; pro and/or con?

I just bought a Bersa Thunder .380. Still waiting for the county to process paperwork, so it's in detention for a bit. Price was right, handles beautifully, light, should carry IWB nicely.

The .45 Ultra-compact is only a tiny bit bigger and heavier, so I'd expect you'd be in good shape.

It is worth noting that Bersa puts a magazine safety on their guns. I'll leave that as an exercise for you...

I had the BR.45UC for about a year and just loved it. A friend who didn't have a .45 talked me out of it,
I put several hundred rounds thru it with no FTF or FTE. I carried it as my primary CCW and had no problems whatsoever with that weapon. (Sig 226 IWB holster worked very well with it.)
My only suggestion would be to get the Polished finish, and not the black finish, because the black finish is not very durable, IMO.
For the price, I would go for it!!!
Let me know if you have any followup questions,

I've had experience with the 380 Bersa and was impressed with it. {my neighbor has one}.

The 45 Bersa appears to be the "right fit" for me. The all nickle sell for $306 and the Blued with stainless slide goes for $312.

What is the current going rate for these? Looked around today for one but didn't come across any locally.

Speaking in general terms, the micro pistols aren't as reliable as full size. The recoil springs in particular sometimes lead a very short life. I don't recall the maker, but there was one example with a recoil spring life of about 300 rounds.

Thanks mrwildroot, looks like I overlooked that post.

No problem...

Well worth every penny!
BT.45UC was alot of fun to shoot!
Sure felt good in the hand too.

OK, I have to ask. I have a Ruger LCP in .380 that because of the small size, gets a little rought to handle after 2-3 magazines. Are you saying that a 45 Bersa in a subcompact is a lot of fun to shoot. How many rounds in a session are you shooting or do you use mainly for SD.

I have the KelTek P3AT. It is the only handgun I have ever owned that I don't absoluttely love to shoot. It may not be comfortable, but it surely is "Comforting"!

The BT.45 UC is not in the LCP or P3AT class.
It is a real pleasure to fire!
I put 100 rounds thru it in the first session, and could have put another hundred thru it had I brought that much ammo...

Muzzle flip is negligible, so quick recovery on sight picture, and very accurate.

Try one...you''ll like it.

mrwildroot,

You stated that you put a couple hundred thru yours. FMJ's? or HP's? ....

I put thru range cheapo box of unknown, WWB and plenty of BB from WM. At least 400+ and no FTF or FTE. Finding an extra mag or two was the problem then, but I hear that availability has improved.

OOPS!
Both RN and HP, with no problem at all.
I do not like Blazer aluminum cased ammo, and won't buy it, only Blazer Brass.
BTW, did I mention that I like to put my new weapons thru torture test? NIB to the range. All rounds fired w/o cleaning said firearm? If it won't function properly dirty, why carry it?
