SIG 228
I've carried a pair of west german P228's in high threat potential bodyguard assignments back in the mid 80's and early 90's. Excellent pistols overall, still have one of them but it rarely leaves the safe. It is one of my "grab and run" guns, along with 6 loaded mags. This one has been rebuilt/refurbished by SIG and is about as reliable as my Colt 1911 and 1911-A1. Both of those are all military original and haven't choked or puked once in over 40 years...not once with any combination of ammo.
I alway's disliked the stock factory grips on the SIG 228, does anyone craft a good quality walnut stock for them?
My other two faves are 70 Series Colt Combat Commaders in .45 ACP, I carry those two when I'm feeling nervous.....or can't lay my hands on a Remington 870, real quick.
Cheers;
Lefty
