There may not be a right or wrong answer to this I dont know. I have all kinds of stuff on hand from Remington to Federals, to Winchester wildcats and some stuff inbetween. I have never tried the CCI blazers and have read they are very consistant considering the price.

Do you guys have any thoughts on this or does each gun vary to what it likes consistancy wise? I know I have a 513 Remington Target rifle that liked the cheap Federals the best from an accuracy standpoint.

As far as bulk ammo at Wal-Mart the Remington does alright for me, cycles a 10-22 and it's hollow-point to boot. Winchester is OK, a dollar higher in price and 25 rnds less in the box (525 vs 550) than the Remington.
I've bought the Blazer when it was on sale for $17.95 for 500 rnds and was not too impressed. You could hear the difference between the sound of the reports... some louder and some very quiet. Once I locked the bolt back and ran a cleaning rod down the barrel to make sure the round made it out.

I have a 513 too and it likes standard velocity 40gr lead ammo. Remington Target, Winchester Wildcat ( really, no kidding!) and about anything Eley.

I shoot bulk ammo when the kids are over and the "good stuff" when I'm trying to hit a black bird center mass.:D

I have had good results using the Remington Thunderbolt and CCI Blazer. I have also had very good results with the Federal semi-auto match load (325 rd. package). I have had more than normal fouling with the Federal load in my 18-3 revolver. The best .22LR ammo I've used lately is CCI Mini-Mags... excellent accuracy and less than normally expected fouling. HTH. sincerely. brucev.

I have not bought any for a couple of years as I have a good supply. However, I never had any problems with the Federal 550 packs from WM. It works in my 10-22, Nylon 66, MK II, etc.

UIse the ammo which functions reliably in your gun. The Remington Golden work well in my S&W 617 but have a high percentage9Ca. 5-10%) in my 22 conversipon units - I attribute this to brittle priming compound. The Federal bulk pack ammo functions veryrelianblyin my older S&W Model 17 but provides ignition failures in my S&W 617. Wolf Match Target, SKJagd ammo functions relianbly in my SWalther GSP. Pardini SP and S&W Model 41.

CCI Standard Velocity is my favorite. Accurate and consistent. There's lot of good .22 ammo out there. Just have to see what works best in your piece.

If you are willing to spend $2.70 to $2.90 per 50 rounds, CCI Standard Velocity is generally very accurate and always reliable. Clean stuff too. Federal 36 and 40 grain high velocity works quite well in many of my S&W revolvers.
CCI Blazer had been my favorite as it is loaded to duplicate the velocity of CCI Mini-Mag, however the last batch I purchased is loaded with an un-coated Federal style bullet. This Blazer leads every barrel severely so I quit shooting it!

I don't know... after seeing Remington misfire after misfire in two different guns at the range and the federals never having a misfire, I think I'll stick with the federals.
