I always like telling people about products that actually work exceedingly well and live up to their claims. Today, there are not many that actually do that!

The product below is one that I have been using for over 15 years now and originally discovered it in an Auto Parts store. It is called "Tuff Stuff" and will remove grease, oil, pet stains, dirt, coffee, and mud. NOT ONLY does it remove the stain it very very effectively removes any odor associated with it. I originally bought this product to get grease stains off the carpet of one of my cars but have since used it all over the house, garage and work shop.

Just spray this foam onto affected area, let it sit for a few minutes, then use a gentle plastic scrub brush to agitate. Use a new microfiber cloth to absorb any residue and bingo - your done. In the case of Dog vomit, blood, (or worse), you might use a second application but after that the stain AND smell are gone! Works on just about ANY fabric, carpet etc. with no negative results.

This morning my Dog Cody threw up in our Den (he has only thrown up 3 times in 11 years - thankfully) but he must have eaten something in the yard. Anyway, I used this stuff with perfect results and figured I throw it out here on the Forum since so many here have pets. :)

I believe it costs around $5 or $6 bucks for a 22 oz. spray can and will last for years! It is available in almost any Auto Store but make sure you get this one - others don't work nearly as well. It also has a mild and pleasant smell that evaporates very quickly. So that is my PSA for the week...... :D

I have used it for a long time also. Good product. Friends at several dealership use it in their cleanup departments

WILL IT WORK ON...???

Do you have padding under your carpet? We have some pet stains from our previous elderly dogs. We clean the carpet, but the spot returns only bigger. Looking at putting in tile throughout the house.

For those with carpet cleaners I learned this trick form a pro. Befoe you prespray with a spot remover instead use BIZ. Wet the carpet a bit then pour some lquid Biz or powdered BIZ dissolved onto the stain. Go eat lunch and come back and clean as normal. BIZ is a natural enzyme and will remove all stains except synthetic such as synthetic oil. Ink can be a hard one but it is based with vegetable oils and BIZ removes it with ease. For deep wet stained issue use enough to penetrate to the pad under neath to remove all the stain and smell. Once you clean a stain it becomes hard set and is much more difficult to remove.

Yes, I have very thick padding, however if you are able to get to the stain really quickly it never penetrates into the padding. If it sits there for hours and hours and does penetrate, the carpeting could possibly be rolled up to expose the affected area on the padding and that area could be cut out and a new piece of foam padding added in. That would be the easiest and best way of permanently eliminating the padding odor.

When they install new carpeting it's not a bad idea to ask the installers for a few larger pieces of the scraps just for such an emergency.

Years ago only one week after having a new carpet installed in our Den we decided to make a fire in the fireplace. When adding a new log to the fire one of the burning ones rolled out onto our brand new carpeting. As quickly as I reacted, it was not quick enough to prevent the carpet from being burnt and damaged. I did get some scraps from the installer and so I actually cut out a 1 foot X 2 foot area, used industrial strength Hot Melt Glue to install a replacement piece and did a good enough job that even my family quickly forgot it ever happened. It actually came out so well, I forgot about it too! It did really help that the carpeting was brand new and so the new insert was not contrasting next to an old section - but on a new carpet as well. I got lucky! :D

The Tech's at my local Jeep dealer used it for hand cleaner before lunch.
There is some stuff sold by Car Brite called Xtra Duty Plus that I thought worked a little better for the "biological" stains and smells.

Because it works so well on stains and smells, there has got to be something in it that I would not use it on my hands - especially before ingesting food!
