Best kitchen gadget in 50 years

I'm with DWalt, poke a small hole. Comes off easily. We do have a small lid remover made for them when I can't get a small lid to twist like on water bottles. Arthritis is taking over, Larry

If you are not going to reuse the jar lid, take an ice pick and punch a hole thru the top. This break the vacuum which is holding the jar lid in place. Jar lid comes off easy with the vacuum released.

We use a screwdriver instead of the above mentioned table knives.

Insert under edge and twist. Hear that releasing POP!

Bekeart and SWMBO.

This explains why all our eating utensils are all bent up. I have about 74 different screwdrivers down the cellar, and two in the dining room drawer.
Yeah, the .45 works best and it's more fun.
Edit: I HAVE used a strap wrench. I left it in the kitchen and never saw it again!

A .45 will break that vacuum every time.

Was invited into the Officer's chow hall and one young
Second Lieutenant was dressing down two of the kitchen staff who setup the tables, as the mustard jar lids were on way too tight and not lined up properly with the other items in the middle of the table.
So this young NCO pulled out his 1911/45ACP and fired 8 times.
Each round gently touched the side of the lid, spinning it loose, and moving the mustard jar to its proper location.
True story. ;)
