Best Laser for "Shield"?

QUOTE=hdskullfire2;139723370]The reason in my case is it's highly distracting. Always on..!! For me to CC it's not suitable. Gives away my position. I'd rather have something I can manually select on or off.

In order to "Eliminate" that potential issue, I simply loosen the amt. of pressure with my middle finger and still have a great grip!

I do want to Thank all involved with the info and decided to get for $149.99 the Red Crimson Trace with the IWB holster made by Blade-Tech. which is the cheapest price I could find anywhere!

Also for those that may not know any Leather holster for a Glock 26/27 will fit the Shield 100%, but I don't know about any Kydex ones, I have a Galco Deep cover tuck-able I bought in 1997 and it fits the Shield perfect!

I meant around the trigger guard. Weight wise I don't really notice a difference

I guess, but I have a Shield 40 with the CT laser and one without. I do not notice any difference in the trigger guard when shooting them back to back. But the Streamlight sticks further out front and looks bigger around, from the pictures I've seen of it. I know they make holsters for the Shield/CT combo, but I've not seen them for the Streamlight. I'm sure it would not fit in my Shield/CT holsters.

I have an ArmaLaser TR4G (green)that I extremely happy with, good reviews. Looks like part of the gun when installed. There are two contact plates that touch your middle finger when you grip the gun, laser comes on automatically. Also has a switch where you can turn the laser off for iron sight practice. A great solution for the Shield.

That is a nice feature that I wish the CT laser had for the Shield. The CT laser I have on my M&P 40C has that switch, but not the ones on our Shields.

On My M&P 9 M2.0 I have a Viridian green, the laser came with a Fabus holster. When the gun is drawn the laser comes on. I've trained to not hold the gun in front of me, but well to the side and with the laser I can still keep shots in a 5" circle at 21', in front of me I can do better but there is a safety factor holding the gun out of line with your body when using a laser. Just remember, don't point a laser at the bad guys eyes, you might cause permanent damage (oh good).

Got my Crimson Trace Laser just now and "I Love it" just like the 1 on my PF-9, took 1 minute to install and if I don't want it on then I simply relax pressure on switch with my middle finger.

The included "Free' Blade-Tech IWB holster Which is Kydex/Plastic which I hate does at least retain gun by pressure on the slide, which many do but mainly the Grip/Frame and thus should not cause wear/tear on gun.

The holster fits my Glock 27 Galco holster and my Uncle Mikes size 12 IWB 100%. The Blade-Tech holster does fit my 1 3/4" belt perfect and can also be adjusted on the clip as to how high or low 1 wants the gun inside pants.

It took a quite a while to adjust the 2 screws for proper retention of the gun and now have it the way I want it but the 2 screws are so long I will have to cut 1/4" off each with my Dremel or they will dig in my side.

This holster runs about $28.+ but don't know if I will use it often or not?

Thanks again to all with the Info!

P.S.

Just noticed after installing the Laser on the Shield, it no longer fits my Horse-Hide Galco holster due to trigger guard now being a little to wide, I guess I could widen it but then my Glock 27 would be loose, so no issue.

The Shield with laser on it still fits the Uncle Mike IWB holster perfect!

Update!

Laser is Fantastic, but as I had said the Holster Blade Tech which came with it to me is 99.9% useless since while as I had said it seems to hold the gun basically by the Grip/Frame and not by the Slide where most Kydex holsters have a Grip.

I don't want anything I own Guns/Cars get scratched/worn more than needed in normal use, so I did a little test put a light coating of Oil in Holster where Slide is and then pulled gun out and no Oil was on Slide, so that tells me Holster did not touch slide, then I gently squeezed top of holster and when I pulled gun Oil was all over slide and I could see the Molding marks inside holster on Slide.

So I put holster on belt and it fit my 1 3/4 belt but clip was a little to tight but worked, took gun wiped oil off and put it in holster walked around house, sat down a few times and holster felt extremely uncomfortable at the 2 O'clock position , then pull gun noticed scuff/smear marks all over Slide from my Oil Test and so it will scratch the Heck off the finish just from sitting etc..

So to my Junk pile holster goes!
