If you're looking for the 5.11 style but with a better fit for larger guys, check out the pants (and maybe shorts?) by Tru-Spec. They are light weight, and they have dozens of pockets including mag pouches, knife pockets, and more. Also, their expandable waistline is the best going -- gives freely with lots of room, and it doesn't look like the sides are going to open-up like some other brands do when they expand.
I'm sure you could find them online, but my local military outfitter carries the whole line. They're tactical-looking to be sure, but you can get them in plain solid colors. Truthfully, I like them better than the 5.11s, because they're cut more generously for men of our "advanced stature."
I'll also +1 on the Columbia pants from Kohl's. Some Kohl's have a B&T section; some don't. The only downside to those pants are the flat-front cut; yes, the right hand pocket has the hidden inner pocket (excellent size for a Kel-Tec P3AT or even a PPK), but you can't stick much in the outer pocket at that point because one's thigh takes-up most of the room in the pant leg.
Again, take a look at the Tru-Specs. At $25 per pair, they won't break the bank.
