Best Quality Toaster?

Well, once again, our toaster/oven crapped out. In 40 years it's probably number 15 or so. Originally we had a commercial model, with a rotisserie but my bride thought it was too big and heavy, so we gave it to a friend. I can't tell you how I truly regret that.

In the succeeding decades, I purchased what formerly were thought to be "national brands" of toasters and toaster ovens, all were junk, never worked properly. I won't mention the brand names, but they were all once made in the USA, but no longer, what a surprise. Not one of them was worth a plug nickel.

So I ask for your recommendations for a good quality commercial toaster, non broiler/oven type, just a toaster. I have the euro pan and wire rack toaster you can use over the gas stove and an antique oven toaster for use in the gas oven, but gee, most often I just want a couple of freakin' slices of toast in a minute or two.

Is this more than a man is reasonably entitled to expect from an appliance?

When the last one died this past week, I was truly delighted. Couldn't evenly toast a slice of bread. What's your advice, pricewise, the sky is the limit. I've already spent a darn fortune on bad ones. Send this old boy to toaster heaven!

Cheers;
Lefty

Holman T2 Pop-up Toaster. USA Made by Star Manufacturing in MO. High-end commercial/restaurant equipment, capacity to toast something like 150 slices per hour. $400-$500.

Years ago we had a Toast Master, it also had a rotisserie and a grill on top, when we moved to a Condo we didn't have room for it, over the past six years we have bought about four toaster ovens, a few weeks ago we bought a B&D, it's the best small one we have had, still not as good as the Toast Master.

We bought one of those in the early 60's. The griddle and rotisserie added greatly to it's usefulness. Worked perfectly until it was replaced by a "Radarange" in the late 70's.

You use this one on the stovetop not a campfire.:D Lasts as long as your oven/range.

Put some arms and legs on it and I think it makes a Dalek from Dr Who!:D

We have an older Dualit 4 slice. I bought it used about 20 years ago at a restaurant auction. I don't eat toast but the wife uses it every morning. Dualits are made in England and not cheap. Parts are replaceable. There's a learning curve as the thing toasts VERY fast. First few pieces will be burnt until you figure out your own personal taste and bread type.

How much is just one (1)???:)

Got this Dash Clearview at Sam's, but it's on Amazon, too. Approx $40. Works great, highly rated. No surprises, you can see when it's done, or watch it burn, if you're into that.

About 15 years ago I found a duplicate of the GE toaster ( Art Deco styling ) we had in the 1950's at an estate auction.

I paid $3 for it.

I've used it every day since.

I don't know anything about toasters, but maybe I'll ask the wife why we got a junk toaster and see what wallet-emptying package from Europe gets delivered to the front door.

Ohh I CAN tell you what will show up " From Europe";)

My wife and I have had a couple different toasters over the years and to this day the best toaster we have ever had BAR NONE is her parents old chrome and dark brown bakelite Hamilton Beach that they got for their wedding back in '55. Its a little thin and requires shaving a bit off about everything but dang it does a good job burnin toast and whatever you throw at it.

Well, since there's already been a Dr. Who reference, anybody remember Red Dwarf?[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Smeg-111558-CRE-2-Slice-Toaster-Cream/dp/B011SJYTI0?ie=UTF8&keywords=smeg%20toaster&qid=1459969897&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1"]Amazon.com - Smeg 2-Slice Toaster-Cream -@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41fnwwvslwL.@@AMEPARAM@@41fnwwvslwL[/ame]
