Well, once again, our toaster/oven crapped out. In 40 years it's probably number 15 or so. Originally we had a commercial model, with a rotisserie but my bride thought it was too big and heavy, so we gave it to a friend. I can't tell you how I truly regret that.
In the succeeding decades, I purchased what formerly were thought to be "national brands" of toasters and toaster ovens, all were junk, never worked properly. I won't mention the brand names, but they were all once made in the USA, but no longer, what a surprise. Not one of them was worth a plug nickel.
So I ask for your recommendations for a good quality commercial toaster, non broiler/oven type, just a toaster. I have the euro pan and wire rack toaster you can use over the gas stove and an antique oven toaster for use in the gas oven, but gee, most often I just want a couple of freakin' slices of toast in a minute or two.
Is this more than a man is reasonably entitled to expect from an appliance?
When the last one died this past week, I was truly delighted. Couldn't evenly toast a slice of bread. What's your advice, pricewise, the sky is the limit. I've already spent a darn fortune on bad ones. Send this old boy to toaster heaven!
Cheers;

Don't be posting pictures of rolls with a stick through it over a campfire or some other such fancy toasters.
