Model 34-1

How can you tell a nickel finish from a stainless model? This was my dad’s gun and he always referred to it as nickel kit gun. Serial number is M149XXX. Any information on this gun in general would be appreciated actually. Thanks!

Model 34 was blue or nickel. The model 63 was the companion gun in stainless.

The Model 63 always had a wide front sight with orange insert. This was not available on the Model 34 or .22/.32 Kit Gun.

On nickel guns typically ( not 100% mind you ) there would be an N on the back of the cylinder. For stainless a V on the back of the cylinder. A model 34 is blue or nickel end of story
