Breaking in a new 15-22 today, and was having a booger of a time getting it zeroed in. I wasn’t using a rest, so just getting close today. Problem was, the rear sight was easy enough to align, but I ran out of adjustment on the front for elevation- still shooting low. The range manager suggested I move the front sight back on the rail to compensate for barrel angle. Has anyone found the sweet spot on the top rail for an MBUS flip up?

P.S. Was as much fun to shoot as I had heard it would be, and way more economical than plinking with a 5.56.

Search was helpful, and a great graphic in this link

Will use a rest next time, end of day and I’m sure I could have been steadier at the longer distance.

If you want to zero in a rifle properly you gotta use a good rest. Front AND rear if possible, and a solid shooting platform (bench). At the very least, use a bipod. The rear sight should be flush with the tang on the upper right above the charging handle.. and the front sight as far forward as it'll go without hanging over the rail. Start your zero at 25 yds and go from there. You should have plenty of adjustment in the front sight. I wouldn't be taking any more advice from your 'range manager'...just sayin'

I did the same as above. As far forward and aft as you can for the longest sight radius possible. A good rest is a must as well. Then confirm shooting it as you normally would.
