What is ya'lls best recommendation for cheap throw-down-range ammo for the SD9VE? Curious on opinions.

Whatever's cheap and available. I buy Federal aluminum case 115gr from Walmart. It's around $10 for a 50 rd box.

I adore Remington UMC FMJ ammo. Low muzzle flash, low muzzle flip, clean burning+no soot on hands/wrists after firing. My accuracy was lethal with that stuff. Highly recommended by me. I won't buy anything else now.

I've used just about all brands with my sd9ve, over 1600 rounds, with no failures with any of them. The cheapest I ever find is Perfecta 115gr fmj from Walmart for $9.57 for 50.

I buy whatever is cheapest online. Lately it's been Geco 124gr. Around $210 shipped. Black Friday sales had them at $199 shipped. Before that I was buying Blazer Brass for about the same price. In between those im buying Brown Bear for $180 shipped

If one of the purposes of your firearm is self defense, you might consider matching your SD and practice rounds.

If your SD round is 147gr or 124gr, then a 115gr practice round might change your aim point. The heavier ammo is more plentiful in mail-order for about the same $10 a box price point as 115gr.

I shoot the cheapest stuff I can find other than Tula. Winchester white box, Perfecta, Blazer Brass, it doesn't matter. I have not had any problems in just under 1,000 rounds. They all go bang every time.

Unless buying in bulk, with free shipping, then I concur with the recommendations for the Federal aluminum and Perfecta, from Walmart. These are both consistent, clean, safe, and accurate, and are just a shade over $10 after tax, which is nearly unbeatable.
Also, though it always gets a lot of traction on the forums (way too much IMO), the idea that one brand or weight with change the impact area, is a non-concern.
Obviously, a high level of precision is critical for competetive shooters, but for the vast majority only shooting for fun and/or practice from 7-15 yards, any difference will be neglible and unimportant. In fact, even in a life & death self defense scenario, it won't make any discernable difference, since those
"one in the heart, two in the head" triple-taps are just TV-inspired fantasy. :D
Shoot whatever is available that is cheap, and won't blow up in your gun.
