Looking for some feedback on best shooting glasses that accept prescriptions. (Mods- if I posted this question in the wrong location please forgive me)

Am inclined to go with th style that uses inserts & can swap out lenses for various colors to fit the environment, but want to get some insight. Will be used for IDPA/ USPSA, sporting clays and bird hunting.

Any suggestions as to brands & things to consider? Thanks in advance!

Right now I have WileyX SL-1 advanced with transition lenses. They're not on the APEL but.... they work good for field use and shooting and the gasket does a good job keeping sand out and fog down. The RX lenses were EXPENSIVE though, I'm going to look into ESS Crossbows as they have a frame called the Suppressor that's thinner to fit under muffs. They also have a large number of lens colors and are APEL.

I wear Decot and Randolph shooting glasses and can't help much on the swoopy modern fashions. I can say that the Rx insert in an ESS is too close and my eyelashes flap it. I'd like to get a look at the CED lineup, they are not expensive but I would worry about the same effect.

Note, you will need two Rx inserts for best results. One with the master eye focused on the front sight of your pistols and one with both eyes at distance for shotgun.

One thing to consider is the strength of your prescription. If you are much over 2.5 diopters, optician may not be able to grind lenses that will fit the curved frame styles without significant distortions.

I used to use Oakley glasses in the Half Jacket style for my prescription shooting glasses...until my dominant eye hit 2.0 diopters to pull the front sight in. They couldn't grind the lenses at that size. Since that time I have been using the Decot Hy-n-Wide glasses. I also have my dominant eye set to the front sight and the off eye set for distance.

The Decots look a little funny but these are for shooting not fashion.
