Hi everyone.

Ive been a lurker for a while and after waiting 10 weeks to get my LTC here in Mass, I just picked up my M&P15-22 this week and have been starting to order the essentials (slings, hand guards, magazines, etc).

I'm looking for advise for a soft sided bag to carry my 22, with a separate second "sleeve" for a second rifle when I get one. Any recommendations?

This is what I have my eye on, a Voodoo tactical 42" case:
Amazon.com: Voodoo Tactical 42" Padded Weapons Rifle Gun Weapon Case - Olive Drab OD Green 15-7612: Everything Else

Any suggestions on a good case similiar in function?

Thanks!

i was just about to post the voodoo after seeing the thread title. if you're willing to wait, slickguns.com has a deal waiting until december for almost half price. personally id go with the smaller 36" but im not sure if your state requires pinned stocks.

Check out tacgearstore.com under the bags & packs section. They have a double rifle case similar to the voodoo tactical 1 for $77. I have their single rifle case and 1 of their back packs. Great quality equipment for the price. I haven't had any problems with the case or the pack, and I'm usually pretty rough with the packs.

im about to pick up a condor single rifle case with the 3 outer pockets and 2 pistol pockets for $55 at my lgs.

That's a pretty good price. It would be nice if the shops around here had condor gear, unfortunately I have to buy it all online:(

i have a decent utg case right now but i like the condor case so i can take my 15-22 and a pistol or 2 at the same time without having 2 bags.

Have tyo agree with CBR. Drago Gear makes good stuff. I liked the Voodoo Tactical, very nice bag but I recetnly purchased the Drago Gear.

Take a look at this seller, Armistead Armory, they were very commeptitive on the Drago gear. if you call them ask for Tom he has been great to work with.

Drago Gear Tactical has many pockets inside the outside compartment for handguns, the two of the front pockets hold 8 25 round mags, there are three total. It also has backpack harness to wear if you have that long walk for your outdoor range. Leaves both hands free.

Take a look, here is where I ordered mine.

Drago Gear || Slings / Cases / Holsters

The double is a 36", if you are carring two M&P 15-22 not sure why you need the 42" unless you have M&P and another longer rifle.

Good luck in your selection. Both are good cases and appear to be made well. Zippers, additional padding all appear to be well made. I liek the inside handgun pockets to carry additional weapons for my trip to the range.

If you can find the Voodoo at 1/2 price later this year that is a very good deal.

Let me know if you want pictures of mine.

If you wouldn't mind taking a picture with the stock fully extended, that would be great. It looks like a great bag at the best price.

My concern is that, here in Mass, we are required to have a pinned stock. My stock is pinned so my 15-22 is 34" long. My concern therefore is if a 36" case will adequately protect the ends of the guns with only an inch of room on either side.

Thanks for the great info everyone!

Sounds like a reasonable concern. My 15-22 with collapsed stock fits about as snug as I'd like in my 34" (single gun) case.

from what ive seen, the voodoo/condor/drago bags are all relatively similar. id be happy with whichever i can get the best deal on - which seems to be a black single rifle condor for $55 locally. :)

I found the Condor double a while back for the same price...$55 at my LGS...they were closing them out...got mine in the Coyote Tan...matches my FDE MOE 15-22 and my FDE AR-15 really well. Boy , do they have a lot of room for all the extra's!!;);)

I stumbled into the Plano hard cases at Walmart for cheap, which is what I primarily carry one 15-22 in along with a slew of mags.

The other 2 cases that I highly recommend (as I find myself consistently using them) are:

2 gun drag bag

shooting mat

While the drag bag is the only one I'm talking about that fits the OP needs, the shooting mat holds one and gets used a lot. Price point is hard to beat if you'll be at the range and not in the sandbox.

That's almost, if not the exact same bag I bought at my LGS. I do believe that mine was about $15 cheaper and I did have to pay sales tax but not shipping. It holds my two ARs, one AR and one M&P15-22 or 2 15-22s. It will hold five 15-22 mags in the center pocket and two each in the end pockets. Good bag, IMHO.

I've been looking for one as well. A 38" would be perfect but I haven't found any. I have a PC model with a Tromix Shark break, collapsed its 35". Guess I'm gonna have to settle on a 42".

well just upgraded to a condor 36" double rifle case. i had a $20 hogue 1911 grip to return to a LGS and was looking at the single case for $55. then i looked over and saw the double was only $10 more at $65. it was a no brainer so now i have all my pistol stuff in there as well instead of carrying 2 bags. :)
