Best to attach a scope

What would be the best way to attach the Leapers UTG SCP3-UM312AOIEW scope to my M&P 15-22? I would like to leave my standard iron sights attached if possible. I'm fairly new at all this and just want to do it right the first time.

That scope will come with Rings, or at least the two I bought from Amazon did (which are the same model in which you posted a link to from Optics Planet).

Your rear sight is just going to be in the way of looking through the scope, and you aren't going to be able to see your front sight (but it will sort of 'fog' up the field of view the further out you look.

You don't co-witness open sights with a scope like you do a red dot or something similar.

I don't know what type of sights you have, but if you have the standard sights, they are easily removed and installed.

Question... didn't want to start a new thread.... wanting to know how far back on the rail do I want to mount this sight? I have seen them half way and seen them all the way back... does it have to do simply with user preference or have to do with keeping the iron sights on? Thanks.
