Two thumbs up for you!! I was wondering when I'd see those parts. Why do you think it's gunky?

I clean the gun after every session but you can't clean all sides of installed items/parts (3000 rounds of gun powder), no biggie. Anyway, I'm familiar with internals now so ready for aftermarket performance parts.

I would really like to grind off 0.025" from each outside edge of the trigger safety. It is wider than the trigger face. I've read comments on Youtube reviews that the trigger safety is a "stupid design". Why would a trigger safety protrude beyond the edges of the trigger face? Would those edges on the trigger safety increase the possibility that something could rub/pull against it and cause the trigger to fire a ND? My BG2 has 2 lbs. 8.48 ozs. pull.

I have no issue with the trigger design, it's odd but it grew on me. The only design complaint I have is the rear slide plate/cover can't be removed to access striker without pulling sight, that's goofy!

Actually like the trigger, and the flat face suits me better than the flippy-do thing on Glocks.
Surprised to hear your trigger is THAT light. Mine is quite good, but wouldn't want it that light.
BTW, if you really have to remove the striker, remove the sight. But any crud in the striker channel can be blown out.
As regards detail stripping the fire control group. I'm not that brave.

I hope this is a range toy, I would never carry a gun with that light of a trigger pull!!!

When I bought this handgun I was super excited about the possibility of being able to carry in a pocket. I really like the way it feels in hand and in my pocket. BUT... I'm very disappointed in S&W. Based upon all the design failures, defects, and lack of quality control.... and poor customer service, with the BG2 I'm very surprised that 2 organizations have touted it as "Handgun of the Year". I really want this to be my first choice. But for now.... my P365 Micro will be my portable hole-puncher. I was very surprised at the light trigger. I tested it several times and I have a Lyman and Wheeler. For an EDC, the trigger pull is a little too light for my comfort.

I decided to carefully retest the trigger. The day I did the initial testing was before I had 500 rounds through it. This time the results are more in line with others who have posted.

Lyman Digital: 7 pulls = 3 lbs. 9.6 ozs. Average
Wheeler Digital: 7 pulls = 4 lbs. 11.1 ozs. Average

I'm tempted to buy a set of calibration weights to find out how inaccurate these two trigger pull testers may be.

Guessing my pull is similar to yours - I have shot a 3.5lb 1911 trigger and I think that's the ideal range for me.

My 1977 (purchased in 1977) 1911 Colt MK IV Series 70 is pulling at 2 lbs. 9.92. It was worked over by a local gunsmith in 1982 because it was creasing the casings at the ejection port. They lowered the port and "accurized it".. it will always be my favorite portable hole-puncher.

Love the 1911 platform, best triggers. Had a Sig 938 Legion briefly with a nice trigger but dumped it for loosening guide rod assembly and panel screws.

Trigger grit

Decided to take lower receiver apart, sure was gunky!

I did the same with mine chasing trigger grit. Very close to a Walther I had. I had no reason tearing into the sear housing, so I only concentrated on the trigger bar. Removed a few burrs and polished the main contacts points. Trigger pull got better but still a little something there. The pull was smooth until the slide went back on. Next was the safety plunger in the slide. Broke the sharp edges with a fine stone and followed with polish. Much better but not there yet. The remaining grit was in the hole the plunge sits in. 2000 grit paper took care of that. I now have a very butter smooth trigger that breaks at just under 4 lbs.

Totally agree about slideplate/cover. I think a proper dovetail fit of the rear sight and a set screw might be in the future on mine.

I purchased a Lyman digital and it read over pound too light. I had Lyman send me two more that did the same thing and threw them all out. Tested them against an NRA weight set. Purchased a Wheeler spring pull model and it's dead on. My BG 2.0 is four pounds dead on.
