Bicycle Rant

It's actually not as bad as it looks. Fits my sit bones, has a kevlar cover and titanium rails.
The titanium flexes a bit and helps to cushion the little bumps.
I've got several thousands of miles on that saddle.
Even so, it still ain't as comfy as my easy chair.

Glad you found one that works for you. A lot of people swear by Brooks.

I remember looking at the bike forums years ago,it seemed ever other thread was about which saddle to try as the poster's present one hurt, made their privates numb, etc.

Honestly when I built Frankenbike back in the 90's, the idea was to have a bike that can be ridden cross country and used for dropping off mountains, riding and jumping flights of steps, riding steep fall lines and other such silliness.
I included an insulated quick release trunk to keep the beer cold.

I got the narrow kevlar seat with titanium rails to stand up to the inevitable crashes and it's narrow to make it easier to get behind for riding down steep fall lines.

Dropping in!

Turned out to fit my sit bones and is comfortable enough for long rides.

Now that I don't fall offa cliffs anymore, my rides are with my wife and are generally just pleasant rides.

I cannot possibly read all these posts, so may be piling on, but I am a bicyclist and here is the bottom line for me. Every time I go out biking, I come close to being run down by an uncaring and inattentive driver. Bicycling has become a necessity for me since I do not go to my fitness center and will not be there until this virus is gone. Getting out in the fresh air is great and traversing the hills and valleys around here is also great cardio, but what is with many drivers? I travel on the right edge of the road and cannot see a car for a mile ahead and yet someone comes up from behind and will not even cross the center line to pass me? Not only does the uncaring and selfish driver not pull into the other lane, but ends up going by me with only a couple feet to spare at high speed. When driving, I ALWAYS pull completely into the other lane where possible or slow down until opposing traffic is by me. I have to ask how many people reading this thread do the same? Unfortunately, my guess is not even half.

Yes, bicyclists have the same rights as automobiles, but not more!!! I will always say something to other bikers if they run stop signs or hog the roadway and I am old enough that they don't bother to beat me up, but without complaining and reminding people of the laws, they do not change. They will likely be the victim of some type of accident in the future if they do not change their habits and abide the laws, but the same can be said about drivers. Anyone annoyed with bicyclists to the point of tempting fate or "having a little fun with them", will possibly be a defendant at the trial of injuring or worse a biker. Your kind gestures toward most bicyclists are appreciated.

You may want to try riding in the right 1/3 of the lane rather than all the way on the edge, Gary. Works for me- they always go to the to the other lane when I do that.
