Your memory serves you well. Biden, after winning the nomination and gaining Beto's endorsement, did say that Beto would be part of his team.

We need to keep an eye on this situation. The White House has announced they'll be sending another name to the Senate. And they added that Mr. Chipman will be appointed to another position that does not require confirmation.

Actually, chipman sunk himself with a racist statement/assumption that he made back in the day working at the atf. He made the statement that a black agent couldn't have possibly passed the test, and had obviously cheated, because he wasn't smart enough to pass the test because he is black. What is interesting, is that he wasn't overwhelmingly shot down because of his racism and "white privelege". It would seem that the very same democrats who see "systemic racism" under every rock have no problem with one of their own being racist. Let that sink in. There should have been every damned senator DEMANDING his disqualification and demanding that he face justice. Crickets.
