Pretty much a textbook in how NOT to run a gunshop. Guy was selling off the books. This was a nice gunshop back when Dave owned it-hell I have been doing business with them since it was Kelly's gunshop before Dave bought it. This kid played pretty free and loose. I have not bought an actual gun there since it was with Kelly back in the 90's but I did buy a blank converter for an AK from him about two years ago. Kind of a "comando nut job" and my spidey sense kicked in even then.

I wonder if that's the Shop where I bought this Holster.
A while back My Bro took me to several local Gunshops.
I bought this from a stack of used leather.

Appears they were given a chance to correct their short comings a few times, some people just do not get it.Where I worked we did a large volume of Police sales/trades and a lot of class III stuff. We never had problems but our stuff was always in order. My boss made it a point and was pretty adament about record keeping and paper work.We also had a secretary who did a final check of everything and was always available when ATF had questions.

I'll try to get a good link to the actual indictment. Makes for an interesting read.

Have no idea how to put in here from my PDF files :(
I can e mail it as an attachment to a savy forum member who can post it, otherwise I'm screwed.

Is this actually true? I thought the whole idea of a FEDERAL firearms license was that it was federal.

I snipped the above from this page:

Lafayette Firearms Store and Owner Indicted on Federal Firearms Charges | USAO-WDLA | Department of Justice

An FFL holder can only transfer firearms at gun shows in the state in which their licensed is issued.

So, yes, that is true

Here's the legal dope on it.

Wouldn't wanna be Dave.

His wife should have no problem using the "Mental Case" defense, after the edit post, complete with a go fund me page.

Geez, You just can't make this STUFF up...

If true, those are HUNDREDS of REPEAT (willful?) violations.

For 40 years I worked in, and later owned, a business that was heavily regulated by state and Federal laws. You should go into these businesses knowing the positives and negative. Thank GOD folks like this get weeded out.

Sounds like they were offered education ~ almost a stay out of jail free card ~ and they blew it. No excuse. They were a detriment to lawful business owners and gun owners everywhere.
