Bill allows loaded guns in national parks

What brilliant political strategy. Obama uses his influence to take away a right we had. The Democrats in Congress agree to reinstate that right. When Obama signs the bill he will take credit for restoring a right he took away.

My guns stay loaded anyway. However, it is real nice when the laws favor common sense . . . almost as nice as if we didn't need a new law to reverse an old law that once never existed in America in the first place!

"Families should not have to stare down loaded AK-47s on nature hikes," said Brady campaign president Paul Helmke.

OMG!!!
Somebody give this guy a valium!
That is one of the stupidest statements ever.
I would like to know, however, how he thinks anyone can conceal a 10lb. 35" semi-auto rifle on a nature hike? Shows what he knows... not much.

Arkdweller

How frigging idiotic.

Who would take an AK-47 on a nature hike?

Pure anti-gun BS directed toward the hyperbole.

The anti gun folks belive this stuff. They think the parks will become killing fields with bullets wizzing by there heads. They don't realize that if they live in a CCW state they have people next to them at the grocery check out will guns on them. They will never get it.

Spokesman Jim Manley said Reid is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, adding that the guns in parks issue was a major concern for many Nevadans.

And there my friends is why this passed so easily. It's all crap of course, but our majority leader in the Senate is reportedly in big trouble with the voters in his home state of Nevada.

You mean you don't carry your AK47 concealed every day?
Seems like the Brady Bunch thinks the public will buy anything they sell.

Look,
I was born at night, but not LAST night!
If you think the possible signing of the "credit card interest regulation" bill having the national parks carry provision hung on it like a X-MAS tree ornament wasn't significant your kidding yourself! If the parks carry provision had NOT been inserted into a bill the lefties desperately desired to have pass before going back to their districts, it would have had the life expectancy of a Corvette with the keys in it downtown at 1 AM. So spare me the lyrics about the left doing it as a good will gesture. Most on this side of the issue are a bit more sophisticated in our thought process than the left gives us credit for. The right is now just using a tactics page out of the lefty playbook is all. The left "gave" nothing.

I'm shocked this surprises you. Almost everything from that organization is equally as
stupid. Anti's lying, shocking!

It is what it is. [But I'm glad you can still laugh. Just keep the smiles for the next 7.65 years and you'll be fine.]

The bill was signed into law today by the President.

Not to be the wet blanket here, but the bill (unless I'm misreading it) doesn't go into effect for 9 months.

Which gives a few months after the November elections for the court challenge. Plenty of time to keep it from ever going into effect yet the Congressmen will be bragging about how they supported it during the election.

Not to be an even wetter blanket, but the next elections to the United States Senate and House of Representatives will be held on November 2, 2010 which is after the bill takes effect in February, 2010.

By golly you are correct! I forgot Congressmen were elected on even years. Still, want to place any friendly wagers this bill will actually take effect?
