Purchased this gun but I am exclusively an IPSC shooter. Looking to find an accepted load, I understand these guns were not built for heavy loads. Can someone point me in a good direction. Been to the Hogdgon site since I use a lot of Universal in my reloading. I also understand the gun is built for lead, not jacketed bullets. What is considered "hot" in something like this? Thanks.

Those guns were made to shoot what are basically .44 special level loads.
So that would be a good starting point on load research.

That was my initial thinking but this type of reloading is new to me. Was a little surprised that pressure could be that low in a case that large. Thanks. Our local club just re-instituted PPC, this may give a new discipline to play in.

Hey Bill, the guy you want to talk to on this is Dave Williams from Kansas (pskys2 on the Brian Enos forum). He used to shoot IPSC with a moonclipped Model 29 using .44 Russian brass and RN bullets.
