i am looking at the UTG bipods for my a r15. will mostly be bench shooting and some prone every now and then. i would like to use my 30rd mags also. which size should i get? center height of 6.1 to 7.9 inches or center height of 8.1 to 12.7 inches?
anybody use these specific bipods?

For bench shooting, I would go with the 6"-8" or a sand bag. Like AR-Getsome said, some people end up not liking a bipod. Or you could look at one of those rubber blocks like the NRA Store and Cabela's sells. Three different heights to choose from.

Just picked up a Caldwell bi-pod. It is 6 to 9 inch. I like it . It is all ways there and ready to go to the field. 30 round mag is a bit tight on ground clearance.

Go with the longer style.Where I shoot (private property) we have one low table and one higher one.We also use whatever chairs are available except the LazyBoy.We're not complete rednecks!

All I have are 30rd mags.If I was confined to using 10rd mags then I might think differently.

so i just used some pieces of wood to match the center height of the bipods. everything will clear the 30rd mag. so that leaves me with which length one to get... if i got smaller one i would probably use it extended all the time, if i got the longer one i would use it collapsed most the time. i also thought about if i got the shorter one and it was too short for whatever reason i could throw a 1/2 riser on the mount to give me an extra 1/2 inch to play with..
