Looking for an FFL to receive my 'new' piece. I realized it might qualify as an antique.

The 4th model was made from 1898 to 1907, with a serial number range from 116003 to 220000.

Now mine shows serial number 1395(7)6--the 7 is a bit blurry. This makes it the 23,573rd one made. So--the question is:
How many .38 squeezers were made in 1898?

thanks you-all.

A bump, and a little more of the question.

Checked the Supica Standard Catalog' today, along with Chicoine's gunsmithing book. Learned that serial numbers may not be reliable for dating (at least for N-frames and M&Ps).

So; do I invest $30 in a Jinks letter in order to find out if I can save $75 in FFL fees?

Thanks
