Black bear attack: no gun or bear pray

When the bear was below him, it looked like I saw at least 1 cub popping up below also. I'm sure he was in need of a good hosing off and a change of shorts when he got to the top.

Don't you love those spirited reminders that you're in nature! Experiencing all that the wild can be, just harmonizing with Mother Earth! Really gets the blood pumping! Nothing like it I tell ya! Yessir, you gotta love it out here in the wild! Now get me the hell out of this forested death chamber and back to the damn pub! I might be able to stop shouting after a couple of pitchers!

I always wonder why more of these climbers don't get snake-bit? Rattlesnakes, and I think about every other snake in North America, like to sun themselves on rocks, ledges, tree limbs, etc. I would think those climbers would get into snakes all the time.

Snakes bite 'em, then -
Bears eat 'em.

I think it's because snakes hang out where there is a food source nearby. Probably not much for a rattlesnake to eat up there.

I know how everyone is an expert afterwards and how easy it is to look from the outside in and "knowing" what's best. But I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how people are so oblivious to very obvious things.

You go into the wilderness without any kind of defense weapon... gun, knife, spray. A freaking walking stick/spear, something!

But I bet he had some energy bars with him, and he made sure the camera is rolling so he can talk/brag about his glorious hike to his fellow buddies, yeah, that's important.

Complacency kills!
