What do you all think of the Blackhawk Padel Holsters for CC? I picked one up at the gun show a couple of weeks ago and on another forum I am on they are saying that it causes ND or AD depending on the poster on that site. Anyway I thought I would ask here since you guys are the ones who deal with firearms and holsters more than them.

BlackHawk holsters

The older models had a high side on the holster and some fool
tried to holster his 45 MP(I think) and got it stuck in the trigger guard and pushed it in and it fired. The have corrected that. BlkHwk Serpa's are
great holsters. I do not like any paddle holster. IMO the holster comes off your belt with the gun sometimes. Good thing is Blkhwk sells the belt
rig extra if you only have paddle. They have great customer service and
will answer your questions. I just bought a sporter for Sig 229 (paddle)
as soon as it got hear I changed it for belt off a 226 holster I was not using. Good luck

My only compliant is the paddle causes the firearm to set away from your body. I found the holster was easy to draw from and to reholster.

Have never seen a paddle holster that was suitable for CCW. As noted above, all (of those I have ever seen) hold the gun away from one's body and thus are not readily concealable.

Be safe.

I bought one. Tried it on. Took it off. Changed the paddle to the belt loops. Tried it back on. Threw away the paddle.

I will have to try with the belt part. In Indiana we do not have to Conceal to carry I was just wondering about it. I do think it is a little big for that however converting to the belt might just get it by as I do not want the gun to be visible all the time and I do not like the feel of IWB's I have one for my 380 and it is unconfortable in all posotions.

Before you open carry, you may want to search this and other forums about the pros (if there are any) and cons of open carry.

Also, there are many holsters available which are comfortable in the IWB configuration. The trick is finding the right one to fit your body type.

I do not want to open carry that is why I always wear baggy and long shirts so I do not think it will be a problem. I tried about 6 IWB's and not 1 was confortable. I do not want to carry the SD9 in the small of my back I feel it is to big to go back there and my 380 goes there when I have it. I am sure there are not to many Pro's and I am sure their are a lot of con's to open carry. The first one that comes to mind is it makes you a target for the bad guy if you are open carring, and it makes people unconfortable being out.

I like the Black Hawk Serpa. I have one for every one of my guns. I do also have quite a few different holsters for each gun. I sometimes have CC'd my Black Hawk Serpa with the paddle and my 5" M&P Pro. You could not tell that I was carrying since I had a heavy and thick over coat on.

I use the Serpa for IDPA and other general carry uses. At the IDPA and IPSC matches I go to there's a lot of Black Hawk Serpas. If they were dangerous and over all not a great holster they wouldn't be there.
