Just bought this one recently and sent to the mothership to have the triggered worked on. Got it back a Tuesday and did the bead blast on the slide Tuesday night. It turned out wonderfully. I haven't gotten to shoot it yet. The badge number on it didn't look very good to begin with, but after bead blasting it, I think it looks kind of nice on the slide. I think this is a PD in Illinois.

S&W charges $120 to blast a slide. So far I have about $150 in my blasting setup including the media. (3) $120 - $150=$210, I am in the green assuming I sent all 3 in for blasting. :) Thanks again BMCM and skjos.

Congratulations on the find

The blasting job looks great

It is hard to tell from those pictures if that is the single stack 4013 or the double stack

My guess would be the double stack since it is a Law Enforcement Agency gun

Nope, single stack. On the .45 frame. It may become a 10mm in the future, I have not decided yet.

If you need encouragement, I am a big fan of the 1013/1014 concept.

I now have one of each. Great lightweight 10MM Auto

Well, being I don't currently have an alloy 10mm...
I have a 4053 also and haven't decided which one to ream out.

I can stand just one more. :)

Great blasting job!

Is it only me that is annoyed at the guy who stamped the badge number, because that guy could have put a little more care in to lining that up properly? Arrrgh!

Nope, I thought the same thing.

You only have to re-chamber one barrel and create one recoil assembly. You can move them back and forth between frames while you are making up your mind :)

Rosewood - Great work and good info, sir! I didn't know that S&W would blast only a slide - always thought they wanted to refinish the whole pistol. It looks like new now!! :)

They have a price for a slide only, frame only and whole pistol. This one has an alloy frame, wouldn't blast it.

Yeah, I kind of thought about that too. :D

Well , you could be even greener if you'd want to to a "few" more slides.

I've got a couple that I'd pay you to do. Might as well pay off everything invested right? :)
