That's right AL cased .45 Colt sportin' 200 grain Speer flying ashtrays loping along at less than mind bending 900'PS for a ME of, wait for it, 360'LBS. And the kicker is, besides being available for a while, they only cost $45.49, not counting a minimum of about 15 clams shipping from your online friends at Halfway-America.

Are you feelin' the love?

Is that for a 50-round box or a 'boutique' 20-rounder? Amazing how Blazer prices have risen when it was designed originally as a lower-cost practice round. Unless you're friendly with a dealer or buy in bulk, I think the $ differential between Blazer and brass cased ammo is about $2 a box. Correct me if I'm wrong.

BTW, I wouldn't want to stand in front of that 'flying ashtray'.

Best $1.80 I ever spent!

When I got my M25, I also bought a box of 20 of those rounds and the price was staggering, but I couldn't have a 45 Colt with no ammo. I still have the full box and will probably never fire any.

That's the 50 rnd, yet for underpowered AL cased ammo, Speer lightweight HP notwithstanding, that's still a wee bit high for me. It's been available since 5/1, so it isn't exactly flying off the shelves.
CCI claims 444'lbs, but out of a 7.26" brl.

The deal, besides being higher than a cat's back, is shipping will cost another 15 clams for a single box. Three boxes will almost snag you free shipping[$150] for dad's day coupon.
I can see the the 200 gr in the 44 spl offering for a Charter Arms Bulldog. In a 45 Colt I'd prefer a heavier boolit and a bit more oomph though not enough to purchase a 20rnd box of magic boolits.

I have some Silvertips in a 9mm stuck somewhere.
Granted, I don't want to stand 100 yards in front of a flying Speer. The lighter weight provides an easier recoil and I feel they were designed for social range. However, they should be a hoot to shoot out of a small framed nuevo Vaquero. I don't even wish to be in front of 250 grain Winchester FN cowboy load if it was coming out of a slingshot. If they were priced at a more realistic price I'd buy 10.

Even BB goes from 200-255 grain in a standard Heavy load topping out at 566'lbs ME before going into the larger frame/cylinder "Ruger Only" loads. That's the dealio on the little Vaquero. For the most part you can buy overpriced cowboy loads or uber expensive full loads right up to the limit. Where's the plain Jane 250 gn SWC pushing 500''lbs ME?

I remember gritting my teeth and paying $24.99 for 50 Magtech cowboy loads. Thought it highway robbery. Still have all 50. Maybe I should've bought more.

Cartridges are going the way of grocery dry goods/coffee. Smaller and smaller amount, in the same size container/cartridge for more and more.

I might have to for my latest obsession. Not seeing a lot of 38 S&W.

I've all but quit shooting. I try to have a few boxes for every calibre that I own. As long as I don't shoot any I'm good except I've bought obsolete 32long/38S&W pistolas of late.

45 Colt is just one of many reasons I reload. I load 200gr swc's that I use in my acp's and also some 250 gr just for the 45 Colt. Much cheaper indeed.

That particular offering did not become available on 5/1. It has been on the market for decades.

Blazer is cheap if you purchase the offerings produced with cheap projectiles, that is a high end hollow point, not a plated bullet or a cast bullet.

And if the price is too high go buy from someone else. It is a free market, you are not being forced to give that seller your money.

However the cheapest 45Colt out there at the moment (cast lead) is still about $.50 per round.
