Blazer brand ammo?

I've shot quite a bit of Blazer over the years and the only problem I've ever had was with the 25ACP. I had an old Colt 1908 pistol with some pitting in the chamber and it would not eject Blazer. Later found a good barrel and installed it, Blazer then worked fine in it. I suspect the softer case stuck to the pitts and slowed down the slide,

Have shot a lot of 9, 40 and 45 Blazer. Never had the problems some other posters ran into with 45. Possibly some bad lots got out and they got some of those. Any maker occasionally has problems (see the recent recall on 5.56 ammo) and I've run across all kinds over the years but Blazer has been fine for me.

I've used Blazer .45 ACP. No issues shooting at all. As for all the astricks totally unnecessary almost as bad as watching TV. It gets to the point where the bleeping is all you hear.

Now it poses an issue for reloaders. It is easy enough to cull out the aluminum cases but the brass tend to sneak in and muck up the works with their small primers. Locks up the priming station when you try to seat large pistol primers. Just one other thing to watch out for when reloading range brass. At least thy are boxer primed. CCI is normally known for their quality products but quality control is a process. This is a CCI MiniMag that somehow missed the crimping station.

Luckily I was paying attention and did not load a round behind the separated bullet.

My shootin buddy shoots blazer aluminum and tula almost exclusively in his glocks. He says the blazer seems hotter than the tula with the tula being noticeably dirtier. I shoot Unique powder so I'm used to dirty. :-) I've shot a lot of blazer brass in my Sig and my Glock no problems with FTF or FTE. YMMV.

Welp, moot point now. Blazer was only $1 or $2 cheaper than anything else on the shelf (except Tula), and now ALL .45 auto ammo is gone. Probably 140 boxes of it gone in a week, and whatever they had hiding in the back. Unsure what the heck happened.

I bought 3 boxes of CCI Blazer (Aluminum casing) for my .40 (Taurus PT-140) a while back and had nothing but problems with it. It seemed that with every 3rd or 4th round I would have either a FTF or FTE. It would get stuck halfway up the feed ramp or stovepipe when ejecting.
Since I've got about 75 rounds of this stuff left and since I've been reloading for a little while now, I'm going to take some measurements to see how the cartridges differ (if at all), and see if I can find the cause.
Could be that my pistol just doesn't like the stuff and has a more expensive taste :).

I have not tried this ammo in my M&P 40 yet.

FWIW, my 1911's have better reliability with 124gr blazer... not so much so with 115gr.

I've had some weak primer hit / fire issues as well... just a few, out of say 300-500 rounds.

I'd never use Blazer for any match shoots.... ymmv

Great for function and breaking in. Terrible accuracy of late. Twenty years ago Blazers would shoot with any factory ammo. Just tried some 45s, all over the place. I could cover all my reload shots with a fist!

I just went through three boxes of Blazer Brass 9mm without any problem. It was 17 degrees and I had to brush snow off between reloads.

Not sure why some folks have had problems with blazer or tula ammo, I have shot a couple thousand rounds of 9mm and 45acp of both brands and never had a hiccup with either. Maybe I have just been lucky. I will admit they are both dirty but I actually enjoy cleaning almost as much as shooting so that isn't a problem with me.

I've shot many thousands of Blazer aluminum in both 9mm and 45. No issues at all, good cheap range ammo.
I've had more issues with QC from Remington, than CCI.

Blazer .357 Mag 158 JHP is my preferred load for mid-frame Magnum use. Blazer .38 Spl+P 158gr JFP is a great load for practice. I had no problems years ago with Blazer .45 hardball in an Uzi carbine.
I would NEVER again use Blazer .38 Spl 158 LRN service-type loads. For whatever reason, they would jam some of my .38 revolvers, preventing cylinder rotation after several shots. Others would use it without problem.
Try out whatever ammo you want to use. Just don't buy a boatload of it before you try it. Hope this helps.

When I first started shooting regularly instead of collecting or carrying. I shot blazer brass ammo in most of my guns at the range. the 15-22 i had ejection issues with. Not alot, not even every mag, but enough to make me switch. I have actually had good luck with the centuron 22lr hollow point ammo. As far as the bodyguard 380, sigma 40, shield 40, shield 9mm, ruger sr40, lcp380, and e series 1911 i never encountered an issue, but i also didnt shoot 5,000 rounds of it through each gun.

In SoCal ammo of any kind last only hours, only shotgun shells last for a week. I always hear people dissing WWB all the time, strange i never have any problems, regardless of cal. or gun.

FTF

I bought 2 boxes of aluminum case Blazer 44 specials for my 629. Wanted to see how much difference the special's made over the mag round for target acquisition. Was able to stay on target in rapid fire but had 8 FTF in a 50 round box. Have 50/50 rounds of Blazer left, wont buy it again. Anyone shoot any Lehigh 44 mag multiple Projectile rounds?
