I've posted mine before but here it is again with the back story which is a little lengthy but should be enjoyable:
I was visiting a friend of mine a retired Deputy Sheriff. He asked if I knew about S&W revolvers and showed me this gun disassembled in a kitchen drawer with rear sight all rusted. He said it was dirty and he thought being stainless it was ok to run through the dishwasher…. What????? But he needed help to put it back together so I obliged.
He never carried it and did not intend to. He had obtained it from another Deputy who needed cash. I told him he didn't deserve to own it and he should sell it to me. He refused. I guilted him over the phone for about a year until the next visit. He relented and tried to charge me $500. We settled on $400. Then he asked if I wanted some 9mm ammo as he no longer had a 9mm since retiring. He said they used to give him extra boxes of ammo after qualifying. He gave me about 1,000 rounds of duty ammo. So….. I figure I paid a good price for the ammo and got the gun for free ! My gunsmith refurbished it similar to the factory "combat revolver package". I carry it in a Kramer paddle holster. Grips are Eagle Sambar stag. He still carries the Colt Detective Special I sold him in 1977 which was his off duty gun his entire career. He refuses to sell that one back to me …. Rude !!!
