Bob Munden...R.I.P.

Sad news. I checked the Montana Standard, his local newspaper in Butte, but no obituary yet. Probably tomorrows edition.

Spoke to him a few years back at a small gun show in Butte. Quite a Gentleman.

A loss to the shooting world for sure.

I'll never forget seeing a video of Bob splitting a playing card in two. He threw it into the air and split it, using a Colt .45 single-action revolver. That's some kind of shooting.

That is really sad news. He was a fantastic shot. I enjoyed watching him on "Impossible Shots." He certainly made some too.

Sad news indeed.
Man could that guy get a revolver out of a holster quick
or not ? Loved watching him entertain with his guns.
RIP Bob

There is a Colt on an auction site that was once belonged to Sammy Davis Jr. and gifted to Bob Munden. I was curious why this was up for sale. Medical expenses? Bob was too young to die. He will be missed.

The world of shooting and gun lovers is diminished by the lost of this good man and excellent shooter. RIP Bob, thanks for the legacy of classy and skillful entertainment you leave behind. You will be missed.

Saw him do a live exhibition in the early 1970s when I was 7 or 8 years old. Made a big impression on me! He was one of a kind.

He said last fall on Impossible Shots he was going in for some major surgery related to diabetes at that time.

He will be sorely missed. RIP.

Sad indeed

It is always sad to hear that a gun legend such as Bob Munden has passed on.

Gee, I thought he died several years ago.

I met him in a Ruger hospitality suite at the SHOT years ago. Seemed like a nice fellow. He was certainly a remarkable shooter. I saw him shoot on videos, but not in person.

I did see Bill Jordan and Elmer Keith shoot in person. They did remarkable things, but Munden may have even surpassed them, except perhaps for Elmer's long range shooting. But there's a video of Munden firing a snub .38 at 200 yards. It'll make believers out of those who think those guns are limited to maybe 10 yards!

Munden's loss is very sad. I doubt that many other shooters will ever achieve the things that he did. He had incredibly fast reflexes!
