Looking to get rid of the spur. I found a spare hammer on eBay that will substitute for the original, in case the next fellow wants "all original." Thing is, although I did this once, long years ago, on a J-frame, and it turned out well, my eyes aren't what they once were. So I'd like a pointer to a 'smith who can: fit the "new" hammer, and bob it. Gun is a 64-2.

(And thanks!)

Where are ya at?

You could send it to me....I have a hacksaw, a vise, and a dremel ;)

It's easy, if you want to do it at home.

Exactly what I've done in the past too, and it comes out perfectly with patience.!
There isn't a "special" tool to bob a hammer....

Cut it, and dress it with a file.
