So took my new S&W Bodyguard 2.0 to the range today for first time. Shot 110 rounds through it (75 FMJ, 35 JHP of two brands).
All shooting done standing at 7 yards. Zero FTE. Zero FTF. One either light primer strike or a hard primer in the off-brand JHP, fired on second try. Ejects cases with authority. Slide locked back on every empty mag. Sling-shotting the slide to chamber a round worked perfect. Yes, loading the last round in the mags is a bit stiff but I'm sure mags will break in. Given how small the gun is, how short the barrel is and how light the gun is...I was very impressed with its shootability. The trigger is very consistent and clean-breaking. Slow-fire I was able to keep 5 shot groups into 2 - 3" groups. Quicker strings opened up to double that. Keep in mind I most often shoot a Glock 19-sized Shadow Systems MR920 so this was a change of gun for me for sure. The JHPs were Hornady American Gunner XTP and an off-brand with more rounded bullet HP profile. Here's some pics. I have a tendency to pull low-right (I'm a southpaw). But when I concentrated my shots were center-mass with the front sight right in the middle of the bullseye. Overall: I'm very pleased with this pistol and can't wait to start carrying it. Oh, BTW, for takedown you don't need to mess with the ejector. Follow Sootch's video - lock slide back, eject mag, turn takedown lever down, release slide (gently), pull trigger & the slide rides forward & off the rails. Reverse to reassemble. Did it multiple times, no problems. Shot after perfect. Heard people are messing up somehow with the ejector lever being raised or lowered & jamming their slide in a forward position.

First shots, FMJ (low flyers were first shots just seeing how it felt):

35 Rounds of JHP (couple low/right flyers on quicker double-taps)

Should I ditch my LCP Max and get one of these?? I have the original DA only version which is very accurate and reliable.

Is the trigger pull as light as some I have read about?
Are you comfortable with it in pocket or AIWB without manual safety?

The trigger is not heavy but it's not a super-light target trigger either. I'd say it's 4lb if I had to guess. But I don't have a trigger scale. It's crisp. It's better than a Glock factory trigger by far. Not as light as a Canik factory trigger. It's a good trigger and definitely helps with accuracy. Small guns with heavy triggers or long DA pulls are so hard to shoot well. I never carry AIWB. Either pocket carry (in a pocket holster that covers trigger), OWB or IWB at my rear-hip. I will be perfectly comfortable carrying it those ways.
I don't carry AIWB for two reasons- one, I have a slight belly these days and AIWB is uncomfortable. Two- I don't like the idea of constantly flagging my junk and femoral artery.

Your call. I've handled but not shot a LCP Max with live ammo. The factory trigger (DA) on the LCP Max sucks dry firing it. The LCP Max feels cheaper and rattles around. The Bodyguard 2.0 feels solid. The ergonomics of the BG 2.0 are WAY better IMO than the LCP Max, LCP or the original Bodyguard. Sights on both are really good for little guns.
If you're happy with the LCP Max, shoot it well and have accessories already for it - then I don't see a huge justification for ditching it.
If there are things that you don't like about the LCP which the BG 2.0 has fixes to those issues, then yeah, I'd see if you can go shoot a BG 2.0 at a range first and if it shoots better for you then I'd personally swap it for the BG 2.0.
