I noticed a company called Mission Adapted Design. They make an awesome ambidextrous 1 & 2 point sling adapter called the M.A.D. Hook Up, that bolts onto the receiver extension for standard AR15's. The current design will not work on our 15-22's, but I have been talking to John at Mission Adapted Design about bringing the design over to the 15-22.

There are a couple of things we have to take into consideration before proceeding. Such as price point and the durability of the 15-22 receiver extension long term to the clamping force of these adapters.

The current M.A.D. Hook up sells for $45 shipped. Would you be interested in paying around the much for one that is designed specifically for the 15-22? We are looking at ways to reduces the price.

In searching the forums there are several threads with members using Midwest Industries, Daniel Defense, and the very expensive TangoDown receiver extension sling adapters. Those of you that have used these sling adapters how has the receiver extension held up to the required clamping force of these adapters? Are there any changes that you would make?

Any feedback you have about this potential product would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jonathan

On both my AR15 rifle and second AR15 pistol lower I have an ikickhippies SLAP but am considering changing them out to Magpul ASAPs. I would like something similar for my 15-22. Currently I'm using paracord to hold my sling pigtail onto the stock tube. I had looked at the other options you mentioned and they're just not quite what I want.

I saw Mission Adapted Design product release and liked the design.

I personally am interested. I think this would be a great addition to your lineup.

personally i would not, I'll stick with the para-cord im using now for my single point hookup, and use the $45 bucks for something more useful.... like ammo.

$50 bucks to have as close to magpul asap as you can have with out cutting up gun count me in!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the feedback so far. We definitely know that the price point will be a huge deciding factor for many and we are looking at ways to reduce cost.

I would be interested as well, but the clamping force of the adapter has me worried. The overall weight of a "naked" 15-22 shouldn't be a big deal. But one you start adding additional furniture, scopes, lights, etc, the weight of the 15-22 starts going up. If I'm going to use this as a single point sling mounting point, then that mount better not start sliding backwards on the "tube" as I drop the rifle for a secondary firearm transition.

Keep up in the loop with your progress. I'll be happy to test things out for you guys and provide video feedback.

This device can provide a lot of clamping force. But since the receiver extension is hollow on the 15-22 it may give out over time. There has not been much expressed interest for this part so things are at a stand still right now. If we decide to continue on with this project we will let you know.

The receiver extension is about 3/16" thick all the way around and the rib underneath is solid. I wouldn't worry too much about wear on the tube. Especially if you can design it so that it puts most of the load on the rib.
