This is my first post -- not because I haven't tried before but because of technical computer glitches!! I have been a S&W owner and shooter for 40+ years. I have several "N Frame" revolvers as well as K frames , L frames and assorted 1911 45 acp autos. I guess you could call me an old timer. I also have a 38-44 outdoorsman that was assingned to the British Columbia Police in the early 50's. Can anyone give me any history on these revolvers?

Hello boots 156 & a big, belated, WELCOME to The Site!

If you've been tryin to post since May, of 2011, then I would say
it's a safe bet that you're not the type who gives up easily. :)

Your best bet, when it comes to your 38-44 Outdoorsman, would be
to post a thread, specifically for that gun, mentioning it in the title.

You can find the sub-forum for that, here:

S&W Hand Ejectors: 1896 to 1961

Hope to see ya around the forums!!

Welcome to the Forum from "rainin' like Hell" West Linn Oregon. Love those N Frames. I have several 29's in various barrel lengths, 4 mod 57's, 2 58's, a mod 25, 28 6"; my first revolver I bought when I was about 13, and a 5" mod 27. Yup, I like N frames too.
Have fun on the Forum and give back when you can.
