Hi!

As much as I shoot precision rifle, I have to be concerned about the internal condition of the barrel. Bore scopes tend to be expensive, and usually require a trip to the gunsmith. Last week, one of the spam emails that I receive had an advertisement for a boresnake endoscope attachment for a smart phone, suggested retail was about $15. I went on Amazon, and found one listed for $15 with free 2 day shipping (I have Amazon Prime). Because I shoot a lot of 223, I ordered the 5.5mm boresnake. I was amazed. When I got it in the house, I was very anxious to install it, and found that it really works!

I now feel that I have an extra means to insure good internal bore conditions in all of my firearms! It is something that I think the serious shooter or collector should have on hand!

I was thinking about ordering one, not for my guns but for plumbing with a lot of turns. Thanks for the info.

They work great for a fast clean or detailed cleanup. Easy to have one always available

I love one for my Marlin .22 lever as there is NO way to see down that barrel. A good scrubbing now and then brings out a lot of gunk.

OP is speaking of a Borescope.
I've been thinking about one also.
Which one did you purchase, OP?

When I find the need for a borescope I just borrow one of the $30,000 units we have at work. I chuckle a bit when I use such an expensive piece of equipment for a meaningless little task at the house.

@Dennis,

I purchased this bore scope from Amazon: Endoscope Inspection Borescope Snake Waterproof camera JINGLESZCN usb 5.5mm 1/1.5/2/3.5/5m Length otg Pipe camera. I purchased the 5.5mm version in the hopes that I can run it down the bore of my 223 match rifle. What I didn't know at the time of purchase, is that it will work with a tablet or laptop, in addition to an Android smartphone!
