Click on this link on the site and notice the link to People for the American Way in the lower right, not exactly an organization I have any interest in supporting, but maybe some do. However, I'll bet most members of this Forum will experience blood pressure rise if they click on the PFTAW link.

Catchy tune,Real American Heros and all the feel good stuff.BUT a really scary agenda .Makes me think who's behind it?

My BIL sent me this link in an e mail. He's a Viet Nam vet that is so conservative he makes Gun for Fun and Gutpile Charlie look like liberals. All I saw when I first viewed the video and posted it was the song. After the two previous posts I took a long look at the entire page.

I have never heard of the people for the American Way and don't know squat about them. The only thing I see this page advocating is community service, registering to vote (and doing so), and holding our elected official accountable for their actions. Whoooo, pretty subversive stuff. Where is the scary agenda?

I thought the folks here would enjoy the performance and I never envisioned any underlying agendas. If I was wrong you have my apologies. Silly me, I thought A little "feel good stuff with Real American Hero's" might be nice.

This is one of Norman Lear's new political projects. He claims that it's 'non partisan' but so does ACORN.

His People for the American Way is an extremely active and very liberal political organization... that does it's best to present a 'traditional American' image. They are far from what I view as traditional and I don't agree with much of their politics or values.

This new project is another touchy feely project to gain recruitment and money to push their liberal agenda.

You may or may not have heard of George Soros and his Move-on organization. This is Move-on "draped in a flag" and using 'Christian' buzz words like 'born again' to cloak their true face and agenda.

No apologies necessary for posting, but folks should understand who they're signing up with when the do what the site directs them to do.

I Might be wrong but I've been wrong before.I've scaned the site and don't like what I see."Take a stand speak your mind" "all familes deserve respect" And my favorite "Darwin not Dogma in our schools" Read and draw your own conclusion. I still think the song was good yet am asking what the agenda? Don't want to start a war,Just healthy debate. Its the American way.

"All families deserve respect"
Translation: We are pushing for same sex unions."
"Darwin not dogma in the schools."
Translation: The Darwinian THEORYof Evolution is to be taught as proven scientific fact even though the evidence for it is extremely slender and has been subject to numerous revisions and interpretations.

From what I know of Norman Lear and his crowd, I tend to believe they look at it as an "inside" joke.

You know . . . " Hey ! I know what we can do ! Let's dress it up in all kinds of Yankee-Doodle wave-the-flag old fashioned bull$hi* and spice it up with all these feel-good wholesome images. The conservative clowns will fall all over themselves praising what a wonderful thing we're doing and most won't even take the time or be smart enough to check out what the web site's really about ! We'll get millions of dupes to the web site that would never come otherwise. "

Of course, I'm just bitter, clinging to my guns and religion . . . .

A friend of mine sent me that eariler this week. After watching it I thought of posting it here. I checked the web site, saw the name Norman Lear, puked and well I didn't do the post.

I did a little poking around on that site and it's clearly an ultra liberal front group. Their Board includes the likes of Alec Baldwin, Norman Lear, Julian Bond and Lara Bergthold and James Hormel.

I'll pass.

My thoughts exactly when I first heard of this several months ago

. Their jingoistic tactics work so well to draw in the shallow thinking leftie masses and ethnic groups, they probably figured, "hey, let's see if it works on a bunch of ignorant, stumpjumper rednecks! By the time they catch on, too late, we got 'em signed up showing they support us!"
