Came across a 5th Shield, a M2.0 with no manual safety made in mid 2020 NEW in the Box for $299.99
Yesterday was my 57th Birthday & my son bought it for me...
I MIGHT sell my M1.0 9mm soon...
BUT it could always be used & I have 8+ magazines for it + parts... 3 of those are 40 S&W in 1st photo.

Went ahead & opened her up & put a Shield Plus Trigger in it from my stash + return spring & sear spring + striker spring & put a Shield Plus Recoil Spring Assembly in it too!
Need to remove rear sight & will stop bye LGS & use their sight pusher as this one is stuck tight.

And I thought I had a problem with owning three. Now I don't feel so bad. It's hard to beat a Shield, especially when you can snag one at a good price. Congrats on your new acquisition.

You can’t go wrong buying an M&P Shield at a good price. I have my TLR-6 equipped M2.0 9mm on me right now as I type this. Having owned a lot of different handguns from a lot of different manufacturers over the years, I am of the opinion that the Shield is one of the best handguns ever created. Small and light, shoots accurately, recoil is manageable, super reliable with all kinds of ammunition, parts and accessories (to include holsters, magazines and sights) are inexpensive and abundant, the guns are reasonably priced, better capacity than a traditional revolver, and it’s a Smith & Wesson. What’s not to like?

I keep looking at these darn things...
Now S&W offers them with a Gold slide, aluminum Ceracoated slide & they also offer a 4" Shield...
I must resist all the variants...

The Optics Ready Shield Plus IS NOT a Performance Center Model
It does have the PC springs & striker safety.
As far as I know the Optics ready Shield Plus doesn't come in a performance Center option BUT?
Two of these Shields are Performance Center models, the Plus with fiber optics & the M1.0 which is now in a M2.0 frame in 40 S&W...
The M1.0 has a M2.0 slide + striker assembly = SMOOOTH..

They look kinda odd to me. None here although I have fired one in 9mm. Meh. Prefer S&W 3rd gen all the way.

The Performance Center model with Optics get my vote .... I have 4 M&Ps

As far as I know the Optics ready Shield Plus doesn't come in a performance Center option BUT?

My only Shield Plus is a Performance Center with Optic - SKU 13253. It has a 4" ported barrel, fiber optic sights and came with a Crimson Trace CTS-1500 red dot. It shoots well, my only complaint is carbon build up on the lens after about 50 rounds.

I just don't know if I like it better than my PC 3.1" ported barrel M2.0. It also shoots well but is more compact and lighter weight.
