Recoil Spring Assembly - Shield Plus

Greetings fellow s&w enthusiasts ... I'm needing to replace the recoil spring assembly on my 3.1" micro compact Shield Plus. Has anyone purchased this? Where did you buy it? Would the recoil spring assembly from the 1st gen "single stack" Shield be compatible?

Cphobes .. your profile shows you in Weymouth .. I'm a former Mass-hole .. used to live between Lowell and Nashua, NH.
As for why I need to replace the spring assembly .. the forward / barrel end of the spring assembly is showing wear. It's almost like the end of the coil is worn down and wanting to pop out from underneath its clip. During routine cleaning today, this prevented spring assembly from compressing. I had to use my thumbnail to work around the circumference of the spring, and "coerce" it back into place. I have a feeling it's only a matter of time before the spring fails.
I have an inquiry into S&W but probably won't know anything until Mon (6/09) or Tue. Come to think of it, if I can buy one from s&w, I might as well buy two !!

Howdy! Your grammar is too good to be from MA must be the NH time that corrected you.

I’ve got 3k rounds thru one of my shield plus pistols, cleaning yesterday showed no indication of the wear you mentioned. Though I didn’t take that close a look. Everything functioned perfectly. Only wear is a slide stop spring and S&W sent me two after I called. It tends to creep out of the notch and wears due to the slide. I didn’t want to fuss with it yesterday but I’ll replace it soon.
