I got this for squirrels. I open the door and let one off as a warning before I let loose the dogs of war.
The squirrels have learned pretty quick....gun=run!
I keep a spare speed loader in case there’s a hoard.
BTW, $1.93 at the dollar store ( what can I say? I’m bored stuck at home for months)

I remember those caps. When I was a kid the revolver was MUCH more realistic looking though. ;)

Well a couple of "things" to share!

1) I remember just a bit further back when we could buy the long rolls of paper "caps" to feed through our six-shooters. We later learned that:
+If one smashed each powder charge with a rock, they would go, "BANG"!
+If you lit one end on fire, it was A LOT of fun!!!

2) No joke: early on, these little pistols looked reasonably real - just about J-Frame sized.

Summary:

1a)It was the paper rolls that likely started my fascination with single-shot revolvers - primarily Ruger.
2a) It was likely because of these that I now have WAY more than my share of J-Frame SW's!!

Thanks for the quick trip down the path of my obsession - I mean, memory lane!

With those old paper cap rolls, thing to do was take one or even two full rolls, set ‘em on their side on a nice big flat rock, and whack ‘em with a hammer!

KA-BOOM!!

Had to hang onto the hammer tight ‘cause you’d get some recoil there.

Very satisfying!

Ah the good old days..................

I would tear off a "Load" from the roll and place it behind the place that the hammer would strike for a extra loud "Bang".

Did we all do all those crazy things, when we were young ?

I have no idea those were still available , as we live in a "candy-fanny" society...
I must have one , many now.......scare off the skunks....

Any excuse to light a charge was welcome but those of us with more brass than sense would pop the caps with a fingernail.

It is rather gaudy looking I’ll admit but it was the only type they had. Plus it’s a classic break open design ( so no +Ps )
My wife likes it because she said she’s not worried about mistakenly picking up a real gun for the job.
I would hope that more than just the color would inform but hey, whatever works!
