As a new strategy this week picked out (and bid on) S&W auctions running too low on GunBroker with the condition won't get the gun would be out bid Sunday night.. Well, I just went into my account and says "I won".

Seems I now own a Model 25 (.45 L.C.) that was listed in like new condition. Will be paying $629 to the seller. As prices have been lately thinking is about as good as going to score one for?
.
Just went back and read the auction info (yes I'm an idiot) and say's "comes with box and paperwork."

Congratulations! You are sure to like it! I have a 25-15 that I bought a few years back at a gun show. Box & papers were there. Mine was $750 & worth every penny. 1 of my favorites. The original stocks had to go. Added some older S&W targets. Much better for me. Bob

AND THAT'S A BAD THING???

Seems to me, more like congratulations are in order, nice gun. IF you didn't want it, why bid on it? I wish all my problems were like that. :)

Don't ya love it when that happens?!? I'm guilty of it too but have never bought a gun I didn't like. Congrats!

Excellent gun, I love the Long colt 25s

Looks to be in Beautiful condition. You may have just stolen that gun for the price of it.

I have seen some at a cattle auction that didn't seem to know what they were bidding on and suspected that. I think you should be pleased with the outcome.

For those that promised their spouse "no more buying guns" this may be the PERFECT cover story.. Told my Janet, "think I've made a terrible mistake",, she said "oh, how is that",, I continued, "there were actions I saw where the gun's bids were way off the value of their worth.. She said, "ok go on" I went on to say " yes and I just found I won one outright I wasn't expecting that" , she slowly started to laugh louder and then louder, then I said "that's not funny, I have three more just to see what would happen gun bids on actions and may win all of them", then tears ran down her cheeks and was laughing so hard started to gasp for air in between her cackling laughter. I'm out of the doghouse!

I'm a huge fan of both the Model 25 and the .45 Colt cartridge. You did well and I'm sure you will enjoy it. :D

BTW: I did the same thing some years ago. I put in the opening minimum bid on a just posted auction for a Model 17-6 and thought surely there's no way I'll win, but why not give it a shot? Turns out that I was the only bidder and won. Great gun though and no regrets. ;)
