I'm trying to help a family member clean out his gun shop and he's gotten a few too many "special" items from auctions. I'm pretty sure what he bought are just shooters based on condition and lack of any other provenance. First up is the 50th anniversary 6" 66-2 Indiana State Police model. I realize they're all marked 1 of 1117...not sure he does. It doesn't come with any box or paperwork but timing and lockup are just about perfect. Bore is great. But the finish I'd say is in the low 90% range. I think he spent about what it's worth but am not sure. The one interesting fact is that it comes in a police evidence box because it was sold at auction after being confiscated from a corrupt sheriff. He thinks that might have bearing on its value but I don't believe so.
Second is a Model 10-6 in about 85% condition with LE markings. The left side is marked NYS DCS with a 506. There's also a disc with DC 0336. This is all visible in the photo. We know what the markings mean for the most part but I fail to see any real addition to value.
Any advice or info is welcome.
Thanks in advance.

I think the model 66-2 worth the same as a non-commemorative version of the gun, perhaps $650.

Someone with an interest in LE/prison guns may pay extra for the model 10-6, $450.

Thanks. That's about what I was thinking. Hopefully he'll agree with me.

Without specific historic provenance he has two shooter-grade revolvers that have no reason to be worth a premium. Tell him to price them accordingly and they should sell.
