I have been wondering how to move the guns and ammo into the new house before the safe can be moved.
To my surprise while trying to pull a small nail I discovered a very well concealed hollow wall with a gun rack built into it. Problem solved, this is a very well hidden false wall and I will trust my guns there until the safe is moved.
We met the seller and she was a very sweet 95+ yr old lady, her husband was a carpenter, who must of liked his long guns.

love the picture of this gun rack .... 🤣

Sounds like a better arrangement than we had here. I was trying to put one of my wife's totes on an upper shelf in a bedroom closet and it was fouling on something at the back. Turned out to be some kind of snake charmer 20ga shotgun.

It’s like the start of a made for tv mystery movie. Stay tuned

I designed and built my own house using a GC. I had 2 gun cabinets, one was small and easily carried, the other I built myself and was too heavy for me to handle. (I overbuild everything)

It was a 4 bedroom house and 3 of them were oversized. The 4th was my "gun room" and not even big enough for a bed.

I only moved 2 blocks away, so minimal issues. I only had 6 gun cases so I had to make several trips. They were put on the bed and went back for more.

The couch, fridge and such were too heavy for me so I hired a mover to do all the stuff once.

They did the job like clockwork. When they dropped the large gun cabinet he said: What kind of room is this? I said my "Office". It already had a desk in the corner. He sadi OK.

The safes came later and of course the "room" is alarmed and window barred.

Gotta plan ahead.

about 17 years ago we came across a property that had just an old 40'x60' foundation from the early 50's. The walls are poured concrete 8" thick, and the floor is 12". I GC'd a new 1,900 sq' ranch, and I rehabbed that foundation into our 3 bay garage, workshop/mancave. Then I came across a vintage safe for sale at a rural town hall for $50., just had to call in a favor from a neighbor to use his tow lift and lowboy trailer and half a dozen friends to get it out and transported to my garage. Then I converted one side of the safe to long guns and the other side to handguns, ammo, and accessories. When I kick the bucket this safe goes with the property, unless the new owner really wants to try moving it out. The tow motor had all it could do to move it, it only weighs about 4k #'s.

I have never bought a house. Just built my own. I always buy the property and build a workshop first then make living quarters in a portion of it. Then I can move the guns and safe in when the other house sells. It also allows for me to build the shop the way I want it before the chance of running short of funds.
The shops get a little bigger each time. The latest one is 7700 square feet. 😳
