Picked up this model 58 last week to use as a project gun. Pictures online were not the best, but for $665 I figured it was better than cutting up one of my nice 58’s. Picked it up today from my FFL, And now I’m not sure if I want to use it as a project gun or not.
Looks to have been done by Power custom. Had his stamp under the grip. Great trigger job, numbered cylinder holes, stippled back strap. Have not been able to search the internet, so what can you tell me about Power custom. Thanks in advance.

If you decide you want to put a regular factory barrel on it, I have one in pretty good shape that has been mag-na-ported.

I was going to use the frame for a steel version of
The 625-10 snub nose.

Thanks for the offer on the .41 barrel, but I’m thinking I’m going to shoot this and see if I like it. If not, it’s destined to become a .45

Power Custom were Great smiths back in the day, looks like someone wanted to turn a 41mag into a custom/ppc revolver,,,,,, what a great find for what you paid, with what you describe I bet it will shoot just fine, what a great shooter. !!!!!

If it turns out you don’t like it, why not post it for sale or trade here on the Forum?
It might be just what someone is looking for!

A lot of high quality professional work went into creating this custom revolver. It would be a shame to erase that.
It’s obviously been refinished, too, not to mention the drilled and tapped holes, so there’s no turning the clock back.

I think that Model 58 revolver is very cool, and for $665 how could you say no? I really like .41 Magnum, but I've just never been into the Model 58...until now. I guess I prefer target sights, so your Model 58 with those modifications is great! I would leave it as is and shoot the heck out of it! I'll bet it's extremely accurate. Enjoy!

As said, this is already a high end shop custom gun. Almost anything you could do to it would be over the top and on a downhill slide. I have a couple of guns that I modified one time too many and wish were back in the previous configuration. Or even the one before that.

I don't understand what a .45 will do that a .41 won't, anyhow.
