The white label is phony. Someone added it to the box.

I disagree. It has the screened blue S&W logo. the fakes don't have that. blue is the hardest to copy. They used an old box with a new label.
I have a boxed, SAO 14-3 with red ink in the label, but I am undecided whether it was added later to reflect changes to a standard model...It's another gun I intend to letter to satisfy my curiosity...I have seen red ink used, but don't remember what model.
Just a question: Has anyone ever seen a factory box label where the hand written entries wee in red ink like this one? In over 60 years all I can remember the manual notations have always been in blue ink.
The older style box with I.D. information printed directly on box shouldn't have the white label too that is from a later period.
