I was looking around on the Everglades Ammo site last week. I've bought a bunch of FMJ bullets from them and some brass from time to time. They have really good prices on their FMJ stuff and it's good quality perfect for range use. I ran across what was list as a 40lbs box of brass for $105 with shipping included. Hmm, got to check this out. The reviews were good so I ordered a box. The description clearly stated this is 100% range brass that has not been sorted and would be dirty. Basically they dump 40lbs of mixed brass in a box and ship it to you.

Got it the other day and spent a little over 3 hours sorting. I was like a kid at Christmas! Very happy with what I got. No, I didn't count any of it and don't plan to as it would take for ever. I did get a lot of the calibers I shoot and several that I don't. Best I can tell here's what I ended up with (rough estimates):

1,800- 9mm
800- 223/556
400- 45ACP
300- 40S&W
200- 38 Special
200- 380ACP
100- 308
30- 357Mag
Various other cases along with a few really oddballs.

I feel it's well worth the money spent. I did cull out a few that were either damaged or two dirty to mess with and probably will cull out a few more after they have been tumbled but really not that many were bad. There were some aluminum and steel case stuff in there as well as some nickel plated but I still ended up with at least 95% use able brass. Below is a photo of the opened box and one after it was sorted. In case any of you are interested here's a link to it: Large Flate Rate Box of Mixed Range Brass - Approx 40lbs - Case Quantities - Brass

I'm even more shocked he actually got any .357 Magnum brass. I got 1 box at the range over the last 5+ years, maybe longer. The brass was in the box and the box in the trashcan.

That's what I like about freezer baggies. Easy to store your brass in and has a a spot for a label. Don't know how many I've used over the years but it is a bunch. Frank

Actually there were 6 pieces of 45 Colt in there and 14 pieces of 44 Mag which is good because I do load the 44Mag.

I'm very fortunate to have my own range. Shoot whenever, whatever, however I want which is very nice. The only real downside to this is you can only pick up your own brass. I'm sure a lot of folks think buying once fired range brass is crazy but for me buying it is the only way I'll get it. The closest outdoor range for me is $125 per year plus a $300 initiation fee. I'm sure it would be nice to get out and shoot with them but I can't justify the money.

Box arrived yesterday. Haven't had time to sort yet.

I live in the same town as them . Probably some of that brass in that box was shot by me . :)

Nothing wrong with nickel plated IMHO!
I prefer it for revolver carry rounds.

Sounds like you came out really good too! So far I've placed 8 orders with Eveglades and always been happy. Their descriptions of the products are always dead on from my experience. Actually I just placed another order with them yesterday.
