ive been told that the boxes that my smiths are shipped in (most pre 80s) are worth around 100 extra with the gun my question is what makes the boxes worth so much and how much do the papers add

Presentation cases from the 70's may bring $100,but you're going to have to go back to the '50's to get $100 or more for a cardboard box. Even then,there are models from that period which still don't fetch that much. Your friend misled you by implying that all boxes are worth a hundred bucks. Prices are wholly dependent upon the models that came in them,the bbl lengths of those models and the condition and contents of those boxes. In other words,there's a whole lot more to it than simply assigning a dollar value to boxes in general. Same goes for the paperwork. Values there run from around $15 well into the thousands.
