Absent Comrade
I ordered a Gemtech G5-T suppressor on May 27, 2011 at the gun show. The dealer quoted me three months turnaround time. I finally picked it up today. What happened is the seller didn't have one in stock so they had to hold the paperwork till they got one in. This happened around mid February 2012. I paid $1400 for the suppressor and $200 for the stamp for a total of $1600.
On the plus side, I can shoot my AR's without hearing protectors. There is a sharp "crack", but nothing anywhere near what the unsuppressed rifle sounds like. I can load subsonic loads that will be truely quiet, but they don't operate the action.
When I picked up my suppressor this afternoon, the dealer let me run a clip of 9mm through his full auto SBR (AR-15). It was a blast. You can go through eight bucks worth of ammo in a few seconds. This gun was suppressed also.
I have another Gemtech on order (different class III dealer). I paid him for it in mid Feb, so it ought to be available soon. This one I had in my hand, so I know he had one. This one is for my M&P22.
