Breakdown of how to make the slide fire stock work on the 15-22

Do you need the muzzle break to make it work? Does a lighter trigger pull not do the trick on its own? I want to get one for mine but I don't want to spend more on mods than the rifle costs just to get it to work.

You'll need the trigger ALTHOUGH you CAN teach yourself to do it with the stock trigger and some new springs if you're really patient.

That's the first time I've ever heard anyone recommend a muzzle break as if it was necessary. I don't have one and don't know anybody that does. Might help but necessary? No.

It will work with out muzzle break.

It will work without the muzzle break but it works more reliably with it. The muzzle brake was like $65 and the trigger was $130.....I use the Trigger in my M400 AR-15 also. Added bonus is the increased recoil of the rifle makes it feel more like shooting a 223 rifle.

Nice.....it worked before I did the mods but I could not get full mag dumps...now it works with out fail every time. Brett248vista what ammo was that?

I wasn't at the range that day so I'm not sure what Dave was shooting, but I'm sure it was just regular bulk ammo, probably Federal or Winshester.

I made it work on a box stock 15-22. Cleaned FCG and lubed the FCG with Molly Paste, did the bent leg hammer spring trick, little bit of silicone oil on the receiver extension tube.

Worked like a charm :)

"Bent leg hammer trick?" Care to elaborate? I haven't heard about that one.

i just bought a slide fire stock my rifle. My rifle is stock except for scope, railcovers, forward grip and angled iron sights. what do i need to do to get my slide fire stock working properly?

This and this alone is all you need.
Jard Adjustable Trigger AR-15 Small Pin .154 1-1/2 lb Single Stage

It works even with the added weight of accessories. Here is a video of me shooting mine.

Check out the JARD TRIGGERS thread from a few days ago. I haven't seen any videos of one cycling the action as fast as mine does. It's a cheaper trigger and it works great.

Ditto. Making sure everything moving is lubed well. Even the mag.

Mine needed firing pin spring and pin mods but works great now.

Wow! Only been a member for a couple hours and my questions have been answered. Thanks guys!

And this is where it gets confusing....I accidently deleted a member on here personal message and video that he had with the slidefire. He didnt change out the trigger and just simply put in a JP 3.5 spring that was only $10 and it worked like a charm for him.

From what I have read, the JP springs work for some and not for others. For only $10 it is worth a shot but you'll prolly have to keep your gun very light with no accessories. Upgrading the trigger is the most reliable way to get the job done and you'll have a faster rate of fire.

I picked up a Slidefire modded MP 15-22. It has a special SlideFire reverse muzzle break, 3.5#trigger and the slidefire stock. They were sold directly from slidefire but are no longer available.

I have put about 900 rounds through it.

CCI Minimags and Remington Golden Bullets run like butter though this thing. Federal bulk also runs very well. Wolf 22lr is a total bust. Aquila 60gr SSS runs okay but not as good as the first three.

Here is a quick video of some mag dumps I did yesterday.
