Brought this on a whim Mod 36 3"

“I paid $399 guessing that was a fair price for a 3” Model 36.”

That’s what I would call a “humble brag.” If you were looking for confirmation though... yes it was a fair price for you. The seller left money on the table, IMHO. ;) Congratulations and enjoy. :D

Perhaps you could make a few more photos...close up maybe...to show the fit at the bottom? As I said, I'm not nitpicking your gun by any means...it's just something that caught my eye. I'd have bought that gun at that price in a heartbeat.

VERY nice 3" square butt Chiefs!

My favorite, especially with the flat latch.

You did well.

I'm sure you know the serial number stamped on the inside of the right grip should match the butt's sn. Grips look original to me. Nice fit.

I "try" not to overpay, but if I saw that gun at $500 and the gun store would not come down I would be buying it. Nice condition, stocks, box, flat latch and 3" on top of all that!:)

You paid a very fair price.

I saw this sitting all by itself in a corner so I thought it needed a home. I am not a collector but have a passion for 3" revolvers. Mod 36 Square butt, 3" deep blue finish, cylinders and bore are perfect. Tiny bit of holster wear on muzzle and top of sight. Timing perfect. Almost no cylinder gap. No rust anywhere. Slight turn line but someone took care of this gun. I took off the sideplate, cleaned, and light coat of Remoil. Runs like a clock.

Ser # 269XXX. The box is factory with the correct ser. number and model etc. written in by hand. Aluminum rod and brush included.
Anyone give me an approximate value and year of manufacture?
I paid $399 guessing that was a fair price for a 3" mod 36.

Ahhh, were you wearing a mask when you "bought" that beautiful little revolver?

I really like it.
