Browning. 380

My wife just came home with her new Browning .380 . Its on a small 1911 type frame. I cleaned it as the instructions stated and we took it out in back. (have my own range on my property)

Very impressive, hardly any kick and I blew out the center of the target with 2 magazines at 25’ She fired 3 mags and did pretty good for a new shooter. Trigger pull is very nice and the gun looks well built. (Typical Browning) She is thinking of utilizing it as a carry weapon.

If I was at a range and someone let me shoot that gun my next stop would have been the LGS to get one. Course as it’s the wife’s I saved a lot of money!

Nope a small size 1911. Even takes down the same way.

Like I said before its a very nice piece!

Dang...... my wife has issue with the heavy recoil spring even on a .380 (walthers) was hoping of a lock breech like the Colt. Mustang 380s.....

I have a small Mustang Pocket lite..... but would like a bigger gun/grip.

Have you had her try a Beretta Model 86 which has the tip up barrel? There is no need to pull the slide back to load or unload the chamber.

The Browning 1911-380 is a good looking firearm available in many finishes and configurations. I like the two tone look

I think the Star Models S and Super S .380's have locked breeches. Someone asked about that vs. blowback guns.

I think it locks up on the barrel hood like a Sig. Cannot think why they put a heavy spring in unless the slide is especially light. I have a Sig P250 in 380 and you can rack that with one finger.

Could be no lugs on the top and I interpreted it wrong. (Mea Culpa) The spring was a bit stiff but my wife had no problem with it

She got the Medallion model for Colt SSA

ive got the .22 version. its a perfect little scaled down govt. model 1911. it has functioned 100% thus far... but the sites are practically non existent... though it preserves the scale

My wife had the same issue with recoil
My local gun shop had a used sig p238 and she shot it and she loved it so she bought a new p238 and problem was solved
